NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires military membership in a compatible military assignment in the Iowa Air National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of this excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a clearance as required by this position. If the selectee does not possess the applicable security clearance when hired, application must be made within 30 days of the start date. Failure to make application for the required security clearance will result in termination of employment.
Failure to complete prescribed courses may be cause for reassignment or termination of FTS.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education, or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional, or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: GS-0340-13: Must haveexperience in the following:
- 1 year experience at next lower grade level.
- Experience analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources.
- Experience and knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures.
- Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
- Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed.
- Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for this position:
- Ability to manage and direct numerous major Mission Support Group programs critical to the success of the mission of the wing at an Air National Guard wing/base.
- Knowledge of providing group-level direction and management for work characterized as infrastructure support for organizations and tenants of the host ANG base.
- Skill to assist in directing the work to be accomplished by an organization consisting of 8 - 12 fulltime direct reporting subordinate supervisors and 100-150 base support employees in technician grades up to GS-13, Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) military grades up to Lt Colonel, and various state program and contract employees engaged in supervisory, professional, technical and administrative work.
- Knowledge of advising the wing staff regarding application and implementation of new technologies that affect host base operations.
