- Required to be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is considered an Emergency Essential Personnel. May be required to work in adverse weather conditions as needed.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license to operate a motor passenger vehicle. Failure to maintain a valid driver's license could result in removal from the position.
- You will be required to obtain a successful pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of this position. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency.
- Position is identified as a Drug Testing Designated Position. Selected candidates required to complete a standard drug screening test prior to employment and on a random basis thereafter.
- Required to complete the Department of Interior's Motorboat Operator Certification Course (MOCC).
- Required to wear the prescribed Bureau of Reclamation uniform while performing duties.
- Must possess or obtain certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) issued through the Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Qualifications
To be rated as qualified for this position, the servicing HR office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirements. This information must be clearly supported in your resume.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the GS-05: You must have one year of specialized experience that is comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal civil service, as it pertains to the management and safe operation of designated parks and/or recreation areas and the conservation of natural and cultural resources. Examples of qualifying experience include regularly patrolling outdoor areas and/or inspecting park facilities to ensure visitor safety and administrative compliance; assisting in the development of interpretative materials to distribute or present to diverse audiences; serving as a park aide and/or providing visitor assistance services. These examples are not all-inclusive and represent the type of work performed at the next lower grade level in the Federal civil service (GS-04).

Applicants may otherwise qualify based on education, having successfully completed a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with 24 semester hours of related coursework in any of the following specialized areas of study: natural resource management, natural science, earth science, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, social studies, museum science, police science/law enforcement, business administration, public administration, behavioral science, sociology, or other related subjects pertaining to the management and safe operation of designated parks and/or recreation areas and the conservation of natural and cultural resources. Related course work must facilitate the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully perform the major duties of the position to be filled. NOTE: You must submit legible copies of your college transcripts with your application if electing to qualify based on education alone.
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed total percentage of the requirements that you meet equals to at least 100 percent. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your completed college semester hours by 120. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal to at least 100 percent to qualify. You must also include a legible copy of your college transcript with your application.
Qualifying experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You will be required to provide official college transcripts to verify educational qualifications, if selected. An official transcript must be sent directly from the University's Registrar's office and must be provided from the institution awarding the degree. Academic transcripts certified by notary publics are NOT official. Official transcripts must be submitted prior to reporting to work as a condition of employment. Failure to submit official transcripts may be grounds for dismissal or rescission of the final job offer.
Accreditation: Only education from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education is acceptable to meet education requirements or to substitute for experience, if applicable. Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs. Condition of Employment for Probationary Period: As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a one-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.
