n order to qualify for this position, you must meet basic qualifications, minimum qualifications and the selective placement factor.
Basic Qualifications: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology.
Minimum Qualifications: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, performing duties such as:
- Serving under the guidance of others who are responsible for conducting job analysis and test development in accordance with regulatory and statutory guidelines governing the field of employee selection testing to include the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection procedures.
- Working independently or as part of a team to apply research techniques and measurement theories, principles, and practices to develop tools such as surveys or other assessments to meet organizational needs.
- Utilizing a major statistical analysis package such as Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), or R for Statistical Computing to conduct descriptive, inferential, and multivariate statistical analyses.
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited college or university that provided applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to do the work.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience, as listed above. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. (Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be combined with experience.)
Selective Placement Factor(s): Selective placement factors are applied in the same manner as minimum qualification requirements. Relevant selective placement factor experience must be well documented in your resume. Failure to meet a selective placement factor will result in you not receiving further consideration. In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following selective placement factor(s):
- Skill in applying Industrial-Organizational Psychology solutions, independently or as part of a team, to develop and/or validate assessments used for hiring (e.g., personnel selection).
