Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will NOT be accepted through this flyer. Duties

  • Provides technical support on hydrographic and topographic surveying, lidar bathymetry, hyperspectral and true color imagery.
  • Solve problems or improve the operation of systems investigates technological advances that may be exploited with the use of state-of-the-art coastal mapping equipment and the data it collects.
  • Develop scopes of work for each project by discussing hydrographic and topographic survey requirements with the Project Manager or Engineer from each District and/or project.
  • Develops technical workflows and procedures for implementation by the NCMP field crew.
  • Prepare time and cost estimates for each project considering the NCMP schedule, seasonality of effective operations, and minimum cost requirements for economic system operation.
  • Lead technical support on hydrographic and topographic surveying, true color imagery, data interpretation and creation of specialized products, and support to JALBTCX staff.
  • Ensure schedules are met and products meet or exceed minimum standards of the JALBTCX.
  • Work independently with managers, engineers, scientists, and other professionals to identify and develop scopes of work to determine use to perform prescribed work.
  • Communicate with supervisor of progress and potentially controversial matters.
  • Conducts briefings and generates technical reports for JALBTCX activities.

In addition to meeting the education above, you must also meet the Requirements below:

GS-13 Specialized Experience: (1) Experience leading coastal airborne mapping operations that include bathymetric lidar, topographic lidar, high resolution imagery, and hyperspectral imagery, and (2) Experience utilizing geospatial software to perform data management, product generation, data and product quality control, and advanced analysis of bathymetric lidar and/or hyperspectral imagery, and (3) Experience collecting and analyzing ancillary data to validate coastal airborne mapping data, and (4) Experience coordinating with USACE and federal agencies about coastal mapping collection, processing, and/or product requirements/deliverables. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12)
