There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.~ without more than normal supervision.
- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 50 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
