To qualify for this position, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Specialized Experience: Possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Consistently communicating and treating customers (patients, their representatives, visitors, and all staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner, providing information and assistance to other healthcare team members in order to improve the documentation, efficiency and effectiveness of operations, creating and maintaining database files needed to monitor and report on a wide range of system-related activities, reviewing and evaluating automated system error reports in order to develop graphic presentations of patterns trends, and other characteristics by carrier, organization, provider, etc. in order to provide constructive feedback for improvement to the appropriate source, identifying trends, patterns, and other characteristics in data that may provide opportunities for enhancements in policies, procedures, practices, and other operational activities to improve on the delivery of health care services.

Education Substitution: You must have successfully completed a Master's (or equivalent graduate degree), or do you possess two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or do you possess an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position. Your graduate education must demonstrate that you have the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position as a Program Analyst.

Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: Possess equivalent combinations of experience and education as described above to fully meet the requirements of this position. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
