Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience is defined as: One year of experience equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 grade level) in the Federal service which includes:
1) Providing guidance as the system owner of a vital database such as Career Acquisition Management Portal (CAMP) or Career Acquisition Personnel and Position Management Information System (CAPPMIS) to support a large workforce; 2) Utilizing software such as SQL, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, etc. to gather data in order to produce reports, charts and briefings to present to leadership; 3) Interfacing with leaders to understand and define crucial data requirements in support of the organization's mission; and 4) Developing standardized reporting formats for uniformity for regular and recurring reports, as well as a centralized storage source for maintaining historical data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11).
