Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) at Vandenberg SFB, Santa Barbara, CA is searching for a Program Specialist, Delta 11 55TH TRS (NK-0303-02, GS-5/11 Equivalent).

Description:
To serve as the primary point of contact to the squadron commander for manpower requirements and programs. Additionally, provides substantive administrative support to multiple programs including, but not limited to, task management, Government Travel Card (GTC) program, Defense Travel System (DTS) administrator, Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) accounts, Records Management, Unit Training Manager (UTM), Sexual Assault Representative (SAPR), safety program and unit security program. Also serves as liaison with unit divisions supporting unit programs and personnel issues and assists in oversight of organization manpower, resource, facility and other related requirements as designated by the Sq/CC.


Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization.
2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
3. Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems.
4. Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and posses the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
5. Ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization.

Requirements

Conditions of employment

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS / relocation funding is not authorized.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
  • A permanent basing decision for 55 TRS is still pending and may require this position to be relocated based upon that decision, as applicable.
