Specialized Experience: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Program Specialist-Research. Qualifying specialized experience includes: working collaboratively in a health research environment, assisting with the submission of formal applications and post-ward grant administration; identifying any changes or updates to the instructions for each grant submission cycle; working with Investigators/ Institutional Review Board (IRB) to compile necessary documents and inspect each grant submission package for completeness and ensure accurate formatting; and correcting any problems or issues in the proposal prior to submission on human subjects.
NOTE: Resume(s) must clearly support the required specialized experience AND support responses to the online questionnaire to be creditable.

Education: Successful completion of two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education, or master's or equivalent graduate degree, or LL.B. or J.D., in a related field of the position to be filled. Education at the graduate level must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application. Education cannot be credited without documentation.

Combination: An equivalent combination of successfully completed education and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. Only education in excess of the first year (18 semester hours) may be used to qualify applicants for the GS-09 level. NOTE: If using education combined with specialized experience to qualify, a copy of your transcript is required.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Environment: The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safetyprecautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or libraries. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
