Summary

Program Support Assistant position performs administrative duties in support of the Data management Section Chief , Health Administration Service. He/she coordinates actions at various levels of the organization including other members of Health Administration Service leadership. Health Administration Service and Data Management Section has program oversight for Clinic Profile Management, HAS Trainers, ADPACS, Insurance Card Buffer (ICB) oversight, and a wide range of reporting databases .

Duties

Major Duties:

  • Receives calls and visitors and directs them accordingly;
  • Consistently communicates with Veterans, their representatives and families, visitors and all VA staff;
  • Provides information in response to routine requests;
  • Collecting, compiling, and tracking data to generate statistical reports;
  • Composes routine correspondence;
  • Maintains office supplies;
  • Serves as timekeeper
  • Coordinates with Payroll personnel as it relates to timekeeping
  • Processes and tracks purchase orders

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/27/2026.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:

  • Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-04) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: receiving calls & visitors and directing them accordingly; responding to requests for information; generating statistical reports by collecting, compiling and tracking data; composing correspondence reports, memorandums and other documents; serving as timekeeper; maintaining office supplies and office files.

  • Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years of education above high school.
