Job Opportunity: Project Coordinator - Construction and Renovation

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our team and oversee a range of repair, maintenance, renovation, and minor construction projects. This dynamic role offers the chance to work with a variety of projects, each varying in size and complexity, while engaging in all phases from planning to execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate project layouts, designs, cost estimates, and specifications for maintenance, repair, construction, or modification projects.
  • Apply engineering principles, national design codes, and construction standards to develop project plans.
  • Engage continuously with contractors to coordinate work efforts and project schedules.
  • Maintain communication with facility users to ensure renovations and repairs minimize disruption.

Requirements:

This is a developmental position with the potential to advance to the GS-11 grade level.

  • Eligible candidates must be U.S. Citizens and meet Selective Service requirements if applicable.
  • A background investigation and a trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid State of Alaska driver's license.
  • Completion of Contracting Officer Representative (COR) training within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to travel temporarily (up to 5% of the time) as needed.

Qualifications:

Depending on the level, qualifications vary from GS-09 to GS-11:

  • GS-09 Level: One year of specialized experience with computer-aided drafting for construction projects or relevant graduate education in Engineering or Architecture.
  • GS-10 Level: One year of experience with AutoCAD drafting techniques, conducting site surveys, and providing engineering solutions.
  • GS-11 Level: One year of experience developing engineering technical data and using CAD/AutoCAD for design and specifications.

Combination of education and experience may qualify candidates in certain situations for the GS-09 level. Transcripts required for educational qualifications.
