This is a public notice for FAA authorized Writing and Editing (1082) positions open to U.S. Citizens. Positions may be announced for FV-F through J in support the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act 2021. Positions to only be filled within the Assistant Administrator for Communications (AOC).

Duties
This series includes positions that involve writing and editing materials, such as reports, regulations, articles, newsletters, magazines, news releases, training materials, brochures, interpretive handbooks, pamphlets, guidebooks, scholarly works, reference works, speeches, or scripts. The work requires the acquisition of information on a variety of subjects in the course of completing assignments. The work requires the development, analysis, and selection of appropriate information and presentation of the information in a form and at a level suitable for the intended audience.
Conditions of Employment

- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Successful completion of security investigation may be required.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.

Qualifications
Qualifications Reference: HRPM, EMP-1.7 Qualifications and OPM General Schedule Qualification Standards. https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/1000/writing-and-editing-series-1082/ FV-F level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least three years of progressively responsible general experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions, plan and organize work and convey information, with at least one year equivalent to the FG/GS-4. Or Successful completion of 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, gained from an accredited college or university. FV-G. Possession of at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F, FG/GS-5 thru 9 level. Examples may include: Experience in writing and editing practices; experience gathering and verifying facts to write/edit materials such as reports, articles, scripts or speeches. Or 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Education must be directly related to the position. FV-H. Possession of at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G, (FG/GS-10/11) level. Examples may include: Experience providing support and assistance to management and/or staff in the preparation of technical documents for a variety of projects, programs or initiatives. FV-I. Possession of at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS 12 level. Examples may include: Experience developing, reviewing and editing written communications products (i.e. agency regulations and policies, speeches, briefings, presentations, newsletters, web-based content, Congressional responses, etc.) for use by management to address complex technical issues. FV-J. Possession of at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS 13 level. Examples may include: Experience analyzing, interpreting, and integrating information in a variety of formats; experience developing finished products and ensuring that written products contain no conflict with the policies and objectives of related programs; experience leading programs and/or projects.
