MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Military Grades: E2-E7
Compatible Military Assignments: 15-series
- Applicants need not be assigned to the position or possess the MOS to apply or be considered for selection. Selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible Military position and attain MOS within 1 year of appointment action.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- All soldiers, civilian employees, and contractor employees who drive Army-owned or leased vehicles must complete the Army Avoidance Course (AAC) training when they start working for the Army. Must have a valid Washington state and military driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Government Travel Card (GTC) and be able to attend all schools deemed necessary by the supervisor.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must maintain membership in the WA Army National Guard for continued employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience in fields such as quality control, quality inspection, contracting and purchasing, supply and storage, industrial or production planning, research and engineering, maintenance, and test and evaluation that provided (1) familiarity with quality assurance or related work, (2) pertinent product or process knowledge and skill, (3) ability to interpret and apply contract requirements and engineering specifications, and (4) skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-09 - Must have at least 24 months experience or 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade experience, education, or training, involving principles, techniques, and accepted practices of quality assurance work (i.e., the application of statistical sampling techniques sufficient to perform assignments or preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problems). Experience in the application and theory of specialization using applicable publications. Experience in the preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problem areas and to recommend corrective action.
Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics). NOTE: You do not have to respond to the KSA's separately but your resume should contain sufficient information to demonstrate possession of the KSA's.
- Comprehensive knowledge of assigned aircraft, component systems, and support equipment to include aircraft specifications and standards. Incumbent utilizes aircraft mechanical skill and knowledge in applying quality assurance to the evaluation and resolution of complex operating and quality issues.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodology of quality assurance functional programs and skills in applying this knowledge to the planning and execution of aircraft maintenance production and processes.
- Knowledge of aircraft inspection methods, techniques and practices to detect conditions, which may compromise quality and the ability to use precision measuring equipment, gauges and instrumentation for testing and special inspections as required.
- Skill in applying statistical analysis, sampling methods, and techniques to determine compliance with the established standards and the ability to interpret and apply contract and engineering specifications, regulations, policy statements and other guideline material to the maintenance functions of the AASF.
- Knowledge of operating practices and procedures related to the maintenance of aircraft, systems and components. Skill to verify, by work document review, material and procedure checks and onsite surveillance, that essential quality requirements have been met.
- Ability to conduct technical reviews, analyze findings and develop recommendations for corrections or improvements in the quality assurance program. Ability to prepare technical reports on quality levels, to identify specific problem areas and to recommend corrective action.
