Duties

  • You will be responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach for integrated primary prevention programs implemented at the Region and installation levels.
  • You will assist in program management, supports Regional prevention action plans, initiatives, assessments, and provides insights to leaders at various levels to inform program updates and address prevention gaps.
  • You will coordinate with subject matter experts across programs in implementing prevention events and training/education and leveraging approaches.
  • You will actively collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify collective goals, intended outcome, and optimal methods to increase efficiencies and integration.
  • You will address problematic/destructive behaviors, including, but not limited to, suicide, sexual harassment, sexual assault, substance misuse, family and interpersonal violence, workplace violence, and military equal opportunity.
  • You will manage programs and fosters an environment that administers all resources in a manner that instills public trust while accomplishing the mission.
  • You will monitor progress and evaluates outcomes to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Holds self and others accountable for measurable high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results.
  • You will determine objectives, set priorities, and ensures sound management processes and procedures are in place, ensuring that national interests are well served.
  • You will accept responsibility for mistakes. Complies with established control systems and rules and formulates objectives and priorities and implements plans consistent with long-term interests of the organization in a global environment.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • Obtain and maintain a current state driver’s license to facilitate travel to training and to coordinate tasks/actions with clients, command and military and civilian agencies within the local area of the Region.
  • Telework eligibility is based on region policies and where authorized by the incumbent’s command.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You may be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Tour of duty will be 36 months.

Occasional lifting up to 20lbs may be required. Incumbent may be required to conduct business in a shipboard environment as well as a shore-based office.

Work is performed in normal office settings, classrooms, and shipboard or waterfront environments. Incumbent must comply with safety standards identified in the various work environments such as safety equipment, safety shoes, hardhat, eye and hearing protection, etc.

Position has been designated as non-critical sensitive. As a position of trust and an IT II position, employment is conditional on the successful completion of an Access National Agency Check Investigation (ANACI) and contain no convictions of sexual assault and domestic violence.
