About the Position:
Position serves as the Ready & Resiliency Specialist at the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade (12th CAB) in Katterbach (Ansbach), Germany.

This is a TERM position Not to Exceed 30 September 2027 position WILL NOT be extended.

Duties

  • Review organizational requirements to identify workforce dynamics, trends, and changes that would impact Soldiers, employees and family members in order to develop readiness, health and wellness, and R2 program requirements and plans.
  • Identify the need for, and initiates, special projects and studies, such as succession planning, workforce analysis and planning initiatives.
  • Develop the Brigades resiliency program evaluation strategy, identifying problem areas, deficiencies, imbalances or other similar factors that can affect performance, customer service, employee satisfaction, and overall readiness and resiliency.
  • Serve as the advisor to the Commander on all aspects pertaining to R2, H2F, SFRG, CR2C, Suicide Prevention, SHARP, and Civilian Wellness program within the footprint.
  • Assist Command Team with complying with R2 reporting requirements within the unit status report (USR) and AR 220.
  • Identify and integrates Brigade R2 resources and training programs.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular and official U.S. Passport.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last until September of 2027. This term position will not be extended.
  • Must obtain and maintain Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) Train-the-Trainer 40-hour Certification Course within the first year of the appointment.
  • Must obtain and maintain Certified Level I MRT Trainer within the first year of the appointment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

Performing a variety of workforce development and management disciplines for the purpose of planning, evaluating and resolving workforce management issues; applying analytical and statistical methods and techniques to measure and evaluate results of workforce management studies; applying statistical methods, procedures and techniques to prepare trend charts, presentations and briefings; and advising on readiness and resiliency resources available through military or civilian organizations and agencies to provide appropriate information and referral.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position (GS-09).

OR

I have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

I have the specialized experience listed above, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described above, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-09.

Additional information

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.
  • If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
  • If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.

Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
  • Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.
