GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations and contracts related to management of Army real estate assets; performing database/inventory management and/or completing asset documentation/inventory, reviewing/developing space requirements and completing space assignment documents and space management planning. Candidate has experience in the acquisition, management and disposal of real property; to include ability to accurately input and retrieve data from government information systems. Candidate has experience resolving facility issues with occupant responsibilities, renegotiating space utilization, encroachment or trespassing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes extensive knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations and contracts related to management of Army real estate assets. Candidate has experience in the acquisition, management and disposal of real property; to include ability to accurately input and retrieve data from government information systems. Candidate has experience resolving facility issues with occupant responsibilities, renegotiating space utilization, encroachment or trespassing. Candidate has experience coordinating with stakeholders at different levels including higher authorities and general public for studies and projects with ability to perform administrative direction, delegation of assignments, and reviewing and evaluating work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
