Duties
- Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools.
- Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests.
- Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies, rescues pool patrons and administers first aid as required.
- Assists in maintaining pool, and area clean and free from hazards.
- Provides information to swimmers regarding safety/health/admission rules and procedures.
- Attends aquatic and/or safety training as directed.
Conditions of Employment

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Good vision is required (corrected vision if necessary).
- May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements
- Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty
- Pre-employment physical is required.
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
- Must participate in all required trainings, rescue drills, and simulations.
- All required certificates must be kept current.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a childcare Tier 1 background investigation
Qualifications

Possesses and maintains the following certifications: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS); American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid
.You must submit the required Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certificates as "other" with your application. If currently enrolled, a copy of your receipt must be uploaded. Applications missing proof of certifications or proof of enrollment will be marked ineligible.
