Duties
- Serves as Facility Assistant in a fitness facility. Works under the direction of the Fitness Facility Manager.
- Assists Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
- Duties include adjusting due to changes in program demands or hours of operation and assisting in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts.
- Assists with publicity of programs and events assists with marketing of posters, flyers and other promotional material.
- Issues/receives equipment to authorized users. Assists with the inventory of property. Monitors fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to operate multiple fitness facilities.
- The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED; MWR Orientation Course; Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
- Must be available to work Tuesday - Saturday 12:45pm, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to operate multiple fitness facilities. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Highly Desirable: Possession of a Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.
