Summary

This position is located at Sierra Army Depot, CA. This is a Regular Part Time position (0-20 hours) with eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans.

Duties

  • Serves as Facility Assistant in a fitness facility. Works under the direction of the Fitness Facility Manager.
  • Assists Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory.
  • Provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
  • Duties include adjusting due to changes in program demands or hours of operation and assisting in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts.
  • Conducts classes and walks all facility rooms to provide guidance or referral as appropriate.

  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a physical and Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED; MWR Orientation Course; Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
  • Must be ability to lift 40lbs

1. Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to operate multiple fitness facilities.
2.The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

Highly Desirable:
Possession of a Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

  • Incentives will not be paid.
