Summary

Duties

  • Assists the Facility Manager in the overall operation of a fitness facility.
  • Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery. Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions.
  • Performs facility cleanliness.
  • Provides conditioning programs for Chievres Fitness Center facility users.
  • Instructs proper conditioning and training for aerobic and muscular fitness and flexibility.
  • Assist in the planning markets and conducts an ongoing physical fitness program.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A probation period of one year may be required.
  • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated work experience that enables the candidate to independently carry out a basic physical fitness program.
  • Valid Fitness or Personal Trainer Certificate REQUIRED.
Highly Desirable:
Prior experience in a Military Fitness and/or Community center planning, organizing, or setting up recreational sports activities, family special events or fun runs in a fitness center or community recreation center.

Pay-Band (NF) Allowances and Differentials
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). PCS Costs
