In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 SEP 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Practical knowledge of recreational shooting activities, range safety, rifle/pistol, skeet and trap, artillery, paintball, rules and procedures. Three (3) years of progressive responsibility of administration, professional, technical or other work which has provided general knowledge of management principles and practices. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license. Within the first ninety (90) days of employment, must obtain and maintain throughout employment, a range safety certificate. Within the first year of employment, must successfully complete a National Rifle Association (NRA) or 2nd Amendment Range Safety Officer Training course. Must have the ability to speak, read and write English. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
