Possess one (1) year of specialized work experience in planning and executing of an Outdoor Recreation program; or responsibility for a large segment of such a program; skill in planning, coordinating, and organizing Outdoor Recreation program activities. Skill in effective management of financial and physical resources and budget preparation
Recreation is defined as providing customer service, involvement in creating and carrying out special programs/events such as: fitness runs, holiday events, tournaments or wellness events providing you with the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
- Planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs.
- Planning, establishing, or evaluating a recreational curriculum for junior college or higher academic levels.
- Instructing in the principles and techniques of recreational program planning and management.
- Serving in a leadership role in the programs and activities of local, regional, and/or national recreational organizations.
Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the NF-02 level.
OR
Possess a bachelor's degree with a major course of study (24 semester hours) in one of the subjects listed below:
Outdoor recreation and parks
Recreation management
Youth, public, urban or community recreation
Special population recreation.
