- ASSIGNMENT PAY AGREEMENT: You must not have a current Assignment Pay Agreement. However, if you have a current Assignment Pay Agreement, it must be fulfilled within 90 days of your application submission.
- Applicants must be a current USPHS Commissioned Corps Officer who works at IHSC.
USPHS Call to Active Duty (CAD) candidates are not eligible for this position.
Civilians are not eligible for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance.
- Required to jog/fast walk up to ¼ mile.
- Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
- Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.
- Must have the ability to assist sick, injured or aging detainees or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than oneself).
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time [6-8 Hours].
- Performing repeated bending motion.
- Average manual dexterity for computer operation.
- Phone use for extended periods of time.
Education
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Incumbent must possess Graduate degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Finance, Health Care Management, or related field plus a minimum of 6 years of professional experience relevant to the officer's category. Of the total professional experience, officers must possess at least 4 years of experience related to management, administration, or evaluation of public health programs. Two years of case management experience and experience developing case management programs based on evidence-based practice models with IHSC/FMCU is preferred.
- Incumbent must be a licensed Registered Nurse or an Advanced Practice Provider with extensive direct patient care experience, preferably within a correctional setting such as IHSC or BOP. It is the responsibility of the incumbent to fulfill the obligation(s) of their licensing or certifying body to maintain currency. This position may be required to perform clinical activities with the scope of clinical license in times of critical needs within the agency. Meet the minimum education requirements for either a nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
- Preferred, achieved and maintains status as a Certified Managed Care Nurse, ANCC Board Certified Nurse Case Manager or a Certified Case Manager through the Commission for Case Manager Certification as directed by IHSC through formal training and other means. If the incumbent does not possess any of the above, they will achieve one of the above within 36 months of onboarding.
- Preferred, active membership in Case Management Society of America (CMSA) and MCG certification.
- Knowledge of case management in the government setting and healthcare industry is required.
- Knowledge of ICE and IHSC, program policies, guidelines, and operating procedures.
- Knowledge of policy development.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of independence, initiative, judgment, and follow-through on a broad range of sensitive, complex administrative tasks.
- Flexibility and adaptability to sudden changes in schedules and work requirements.
- Knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office programs to include Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and SharePoint are preferred.
- Experience in reviewing, writing, and revising policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Maintains basic readiness status.
- Maintains CPR/BLS certification.
