Duties
Serves as the Resort Facilities Manager at a large Armed Forces Recreation Center resort. As a subject matter expert, applies knowledge of civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering, in directing hotel engineering staff in achieving its facility maintenance objectives in support of the organizational mission and command assignments and priorities. As the Resort Facilities Manager, reports to the Chief Engineer and serves as key advisor and consultant to the General Manager. Manages all phases of the engineering operation that include the day-to-day direction of the technical functions required to maintain and operate the resort's two towers, and the associated structures of the Hale Koa Hotel comprised of 818 guestrooms, laundry plant, full-service restaurants, snack bars, beverage outlets, banquet meeting rooms, multiple pools and aquatic complex, fitness center, concessionaire and office spaces. Assures early identification of customer problems or issues and facilitates the resolution of identified problems. Develops and monitors preventive and recurring maintenance programs. Determines and takes proper action to procure equipment parts and supplies needed to keep systems and equipment in proper working order. Participates in the budget formulation process and executes the approved budget. May serve as the contracting officer's representative (COR) and/or ordering officer for outside service contracts, such as elevator, exhaust and grease traps, air conditioning chiller maintenance and cooling tower water treatment, refuse collection, etc. Plans, organizes, and conducts a comprehensive engineering program that integrates a variety of resources. Plans projects and execution of NAF minor construction, maintenance and repair projects. Reviews plans and work orders. Coordinates actions among officials and departments and prepares justifications, cost estimates, resources needed, and completion time. Ensures that data is complete and valid with respect to fulfilling the requirements of the various plans and programs. Determines whether any of the planning components should be modified and initiates and/or recommends program or procedural changes to improve performance. Notes weaknesses or failures encountered, the probable causes, and recommends or implements modifications, and corrections. Establishes internal systems or procedures that identify and correct potential weaknesses. Ensures adherence to internal control and environmental procedures and requirements. Provides the full range of supervisory responsibilities. Directs, evaluates, and oversees the work of a subordinate supervisor, leaders, and employees in all phases of work performance to ensure the most effective and economical facility systems structure is maintained. Reviews progress and measures productivity and evaluates performance.

Qualifications
1. Must be highly skilled in the maintenance and operations of the civil, mechanical, and electrical requirements associated with large hotels or other occupied type facilities.
2. Must have work experience in a large resort/hotel or other occupied facility at an assistant manager level or higher in an engineering capacity.
3. Must have work experience managing a workforce of 10 or more to include subordinate supervisors, leaders and employees.
4. Must have experience with budgeting processes, engineering contract options and experience with a standalone engineering environment.

- Highly preferred are those candidates who also have a baccalaureate degree in facility management, engineering or other related technical discipline.
- Experience with serving as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and as a liaison for service contracts and agencies.
