MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a minimum of one-year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level.
GS-9 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess at least one year of experience, education, or training performing periodic onsite surveys, to determine compliance with applicable occupational safety standards. Preparing or revising safety instructions and guides. Advising personnel of appropriate safety and occupational health measures to control or eliminate hazardous operating processes which may cause mishaps. Investigating mishaps, obtaining statements from witnesses, and photographing mishap scenes. Recording circumstances of mishaps and extent of injuries, preparing final report(s) of findings with recommendations to correct the unsafe acts or conditions which caused injuries or property damage.
GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess at least one year of experience, education, or training equivalent to a GS-9, performing periodic/unscheduled inspections of base facilities, warehouses, and equipment maintenance operations and evaluated compliance with applicable regulations and hazard system. Recommending measures and methods to correct safety and occupational health deficiencies. Participating in planning for testing of munitions, and assured integration of explosive safety criteria in testing procedures. Reviewed test implementation directives for inclusion of appropriate safety criteria. Preparing supplements to regulations and manuals for aircraft weapons safety and developed local regulations defining applicable mishap prevention procedures.
GS-12 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess at least one year of experience, education, or training equivalent to a GS-11, performing periodic/unscheduled inspections of base facilities, warehouses, and equipment maintenance operations and evaluated compliance with applicable regulations and hazard system; experience recommending measures and methods to correct safety and occupational health deficiencies; experience planning for testing of munitions, and assuring integration of explosive safety criteria in testing procedures; experience reviewing test implementation directives for inclusion of appropriate safety criteria; and experience preparing supplements to regulations and manuals for aircraft weapons safety and developing local regulations defining applicable mishap prevention procedures.
