Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the
GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interprets safety standards and regulations as they apply to the education and training environment to provide expert advice concerning their application; 2) Reviews risk analysis data of safety and occupational health training programs to make recommendations for corrective actions and forecasting safety issues; 3) Provides technical safety training on topics such as occupational safety hazards and building evacuation; 4) Reviews accident statistics, identifies areas in need of improvement and makes recommendations for corrective actions.

Physical Demands:
Position may involve lifting and/or carrying weights up to 40 pounds (manuals, data collection forms; self-contained breathing apparatus, etc.) for distances up to 300 feet. Work performance while visiting subordinate activities to conduct inspections and/or mishap investigations may involve exposure to hazardous environments. Exposures include, but are not limited to high noise, toxic atmospheres; explosives, small arms training, heat and humidity which require the incumbent to be qualified to wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator. The incumbent is required to perform frequent travel, often on short notice for varying periods of time.
Work Environment:
Work is normally performed in an office setting with routine exposure to hazardous environments while visiting subordinate activities. Protective equipment may be required including hard hat, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, goggles, fire-retardant coveralls, respirators, and gloves.
