Conditions of employment
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- The employee will be required to take a drug test.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of Secret, or appropriate security clearance of the position.
- May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive, personal, and/or classified or information covered under privacy act laws in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- This position requires training and experience to meet Army PCSOH, PCES credentials (or equivalent) within two (2) years of appointment.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP).
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience in scientific or technical work that provided an understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the safety and occupational health field. Creditable general experience must have demonstrated the achievement of knowledge equivalent to the education described above.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level experience, education, or training performing periodic/unscheduled inspections of base facilities, warehouses, and equipment maintenance operations and evaluated compliance with applicable regulations and hazard system. Recommended measures and methods to correct safety and occupational health deficiencies. Participated in planning for testing of munitions, and assured integration of explosive safety criteria in testing procedures. Reviewed test implementation directives for inclusion of appropriate safety criteria. Prepared supplements to regulations and manuals for aircraft weapons safety and developed local regulations defining applicable mishap prevention procedures.

The memorandum will be written by you, the employee, and signed by your supervisory chain up to the Director level. Directors and Supervisors will submit the signed memorandum for final review to the HRO Staffing inbox: ng.in.inarng.mbx.hro-staffing-section@army.mil
The Human Resources Officer (HRO) is the final approval for all ETP waivers. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application.

Education
To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-011. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the line of work.
For the GS-11 level: To qualify on education alone applicant must have one of the following: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related
Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grade GS-11 including for combination of education and specialized experience.
