Summary

You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY, SINGAPORE AREA COORDINATOR of COMMANDER SINGAPORE AREA COORDINATOR.

Duties

  • You will ensure the Electronic Security System (ESS) is maintained and operational for day-to-day operations.
  • You will maintain inventory, control and accountability of all ESS and associated equipment, such as key cards, card swipes, and other devices.
  • You will coordinate with the public works and information technology departments and/or contractors, as appropriate, to support repair and maintenance.

Qualifications

GS-06
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Controlling, preparing and issues key cards, passes and vehicle registration decals that allow access of civilian, military, contractor personnel, and visitors to the installation; Sets up and maintains related visitor control roster and badges accountability log, to include the destruction of obsolete badges, and assists the Physical Security Specialist in maintaining physical security equipment under the cognizance of SAC.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.

Military Spouses and Family Members may apply 30 days before their anticipated arrival date. However, they will not receive preference until arrival at the foreign location. Additional documentation may be required prior to granting preference.

Military spouses and family members who are appointed may not extend longer than 2 months following the transfer of the sponsor from the commuting area of the foreign duty station; 2 months beyond the separation of the appointee's sponsor; or any time beyond the time employee ceases to be a family member.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
