This National Guard position is for a SECURITY OFFICER, Position Description Number D2243000 and is part of the CO 140 SFS, National Guard.
This position is located in the Mission Support Group, Security Forces Squadron (SFS).

Duties
            
        
            
                The primary purpose of this position is the principal advisor to the Wing Commander as the Anti-Terrorism Officer (ATO) and reports to the Mission Support Group Commander as the Defense Force Commander (DFC) with responsibility over the SFS; develops, implements, and manages the wing law enforcement, physical security, wing security, and Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection (AT/FP)programs. Incumbent is the Wing Commander's principal advisor in all law enforcement and physical security matters. Serves as the Wing AT/FP Officer. Plans, schedules, controls, and directs all unit functions. Performs a variety of DFC and supervisory functions to include assigning work to subordinates(dual and non-dual status, Active Guard Reserve (AGR), and traditional drill status members) by selective criteria such as the difficulty of the assignment, capabilities of the employee, or present work load assigned to each employee. Serves as the highest technical authority in regards to security for the wing. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Conditions of employment
        
                - Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

- Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard.
- Must hold the grade of O-2 thru O-4.

- For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- The incumbent of this position must have, at a minimum, a completed Top Secret clearance.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- This position may be designated mission essential based on local conditions. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the unit is closed or delayed reporting, and remain on duty during phased or early release.
- Maintains weapons qualifications commensurate with a 31PX series Air Force Specialty Code.
Qualifications
    
        Military Grades: O-2 - O-4
1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

Must have Specialized Experience in each of the following:
Experience in formulating and implementing plans and processes, overcoming obstacles and conflicts, and managing the state's force protection and anti-terrorism programs.
 Expert experiences in reviewing, analyzing, and assessing law enforcement sensitive information.
Experience in managing and directing assigned program areas, conducting studies and reviews; and, writing, publishing and implementing force protection policies and projects.
Knowledge in security program specialties to include physical, personnel, and operational security.
Experience in the specialized field of force protection and anti-terrorism, and physical and operations security.

10. Per ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum #10-39, mandatory Full Time Staff (FTS) training is required within a year of hire as a condition of employment in vacancy announcements for both Technician and Active Guard Reserve positions. Failure of new FTS personnel to complete NGB prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment to other full-time positions or termination of their employment.
11. Current COANG Technicians and AGRs hired for a position in which an MCR is required will remain in their current status unless/until the MCR is approved. In the event the MCR is not approved, they are accepting the position in their current status.
