Duties
As an Security Officer, GS-0080-13, you will exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Under the supervision of the Chief of the APO and the Wing Commander, this position directs, coordinates, and oversees work through APO Integration staff and supervisors. Responsible for decisions, management, oversight and quality control of personnel matters, including assignment/promotion recommendations, performance ratings, awards and other recognition, mentoring, contractor statements of work and acquisition plans and decisions.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title 5, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to current on-board (Tenure 1, 2 and 3) US Federal employees interested in helping the Department of the Air Force meet our mission requirements as a Security Officer.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

NOTE: Must successfully complete all Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-13 must have at least one year experience at the GS-12 level in the normal line of progression through federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; GS-12 experience includes formulating and implementing plans and processes with the Advanced Programs Office (APO), Special Access Program(SAP) Branch of an Air National Guard Wing; security specialist and security advisor, providing oversight and management of multiple security disciplines (information, personnel, industrial, physical, computer, operations and communications security) in support of Special Access Programs (SAPs). Provide specialized security policy and support for Special Access Programs to ensure the mission is not compromised. Provide an effective security program to insure that information and material affecting national defense are protected from unauthorized disclosure, espionage and sabotage; ensuring granted individuals access to program information is clearly consistent with the interest of national security and defense. Experience in managing and supervising work functions and discipline requirements. Experience in conducting employee performance evaluations; mentoring junior employees, managing resources and budgets; and directing assigned work, and leading the employees on all program tasks, inspections, exercises, deployments, and/or mobilizations. Experience in planning and scheduling work in a manner that promotes smooth flow and even distribution of assigning work requirements; experience included Information Protection program training and guiding employees on programs and through assigned tasks. Experiences involved balancing Information Protection program requirements and providing advice, guidance, and direction on a wide variety of the program's policies and employee performance administrative issues. Experienced in structuring assignments to create effective and efficient procedures that resulted in measuring improved task processes. Previous supervisory experiences created improvements in mentoring, training applications and career development that resulted in the employees' increased performance values in quality work, timeliness considerations, and work efficiencies. Must have demonstrated experiences or endorsements on mentorship competencies provided to employees. Must have working knowledge of equal employment and affirmative action programs.
