THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a Security Specialist, Position Description Number D0755000 and is part of the 116th Security Forces Squadron, 116th Air Control Wing, Robins AFB, Georgia.
This is a full-time, Excepted Temporary Indefinite, Not to Exceed 2 Years dual status position which requires Air National Guard Membership.
Area of Consideration: Open to current Air DSG Members within the Georgia Air National Guard.
Duties
As a Security Specialist, GS-0080-09, you will:
Plan, organize, and direct security police activities. Plan, organize and direct activities and programs to support base activities such as; security, resource protection, law enforcement, and information security programs. Coordinate and develop contingency plans for confrontation management, base defense, information and personnel security and resource protection plans. Coordinate the deployment of personnel and individual and unit equipment. Develop and implement policies to ensure program effectiveness and efficient use of personnel and equipment. Coordinate detailed procedures and instructions for such functions as prevention of unauthorized entry of restricted areas and mission essential resources, use of personnel and equipment. Administer security police training programs. Plan for the employment of electronic physical security equipment to ensure the most efficient and economical devices are implemented to achieve required levels of security consistent with existing threat levels.
Initiate programming and budgeting actions for initial acquisition, modification, and replacement of security police facilities, vehicles, equipment, and other resources.
Direct security police activities. Assign and direct security police personnel in emergency operations, including security, law enforcement, and air base defense; crash and disaster control activities; and civil or internal disorders. Analyze security police facilities, sensor and alarm systems, vehicles, weapons, and other equipment to ensure operational effectiveness. Direct the conduct of training programs to meet local and mobility mission requirements. Ensure professional standards of performance within security police activities through management, supervisory, and inspection programs.
Coordinate security police activities. Advise and coordinate with Active Duty, AFRES, DOD counterparts and ANG unit commanders on security, air base defense, law enforcement, and information security matters. Coordinate the activities of other units which have responsibilities during emergency security or local ground defense operations. Coordinate with other military services and civil agencies on security, air base defense, and law enforcement; mutual support agreements; and host-tenant agreements.
Perform technical security police functions. Analyze security and law enforcement reports and statistics. Evaluate the employment of security police weapons to ensure maximum effectiveness. Evaluate the employment and employment of electronic sensor systems to ensure maximum effectiveness in their installation and use. Conduct staff meetings.
Monitor and direct security police programs. Monitor Air Force and ANG training standards. Analyze newly developed equipment and weaponry. Initiate programming and budgeting actions for acquisition, modification, and replacement of security police facilities, vehicles, and equipment. Monitor security police programs through inspections, reporting systems, and observation. Evaluate programs by recording, charting, and analyzing the status of discipline, reports of crimes, security violations, and traffic incidents involving ANG members.
Determine adequacy of facilities, equipment, and procedures used to account for, store, transmit, and destroy classified material. Monitor and evaluate reporting dealing with compromise of classified information and personnel security program documents which includes the special security files.
Perform other duties as assigned.
