SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Serves as the SkillBridge Program Coordinator for Camp Butler, providing direct program support to transitioning Service Members, unit commands, and stakeholders. Coordinates and administers all aspects of the SkillBridge Program in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC), and Marine Corps Installation Pacific (MCIPAC) policy.  This position is based at Camp Foster and must be able to travel to all Marine Corps camps on Okinawa.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Establishes and maintains working relationships with SkillBridge Coordinators across the Marine Corps and DoD, attends quarterly HQMC meetings, and ensures the dissemination of updated policy and program information to all stakeholders. Provides internal training and ongoing guidance on SkillBridge counseling protocols, application screenings, and eligibility compliance.

Delivers individualized counseling to help Service Members identify SkillBridge opportunities that align with their values, interests, skills, and career goals. Screens SkillBridge applications for eligibility, accuracy, and suitability. Assists Service Members in completing application packets and supports unit commands in the endorsement and approval process. Routinely monitors the Navy College Management Information System (NCMIS) or other designated platforms for application status updates and maintains communication with clients and commands throughout the application lifecycle.

Follows up with SkillBridge completers to gather data on employment outcomes, compiles and analyzes SkillBridge program data, and submits monthly and ad hoc reports to HQMC as required. Develops and maintains application procedures, forms, and marketing materials, including content for the MCCS Okinawa SkillBridge website. Stays current on all DoD-authorized SkillBridge opportunities through independent research and official communications.

Educates unit leadership and command representatives on SkillBridge program parameters, command responsibilities, and approval protocols. Develops and delivers SkillBridge informational briefings to Service Members.

Coordinates with HQMC leadership, stakeholders, and approved SkillBridge partners to ensure continuity of services through referrals and warm handovers and to verify satisfaction of all program requirements.

Organizes and presents workshops. Adapts instructional strategies to meet client needs. Manages the classroom effectively.

Uses HQMC standardized curriculum and facilitator¿s guide, follows the assigned schedule, provide clients with course syllabus and participant¿s guides, establishes a safe and respectful learning environment, maintains accurate client attendance and achievement records and ensures opportunities for client participation.

Provides feedback to Service Members on the suitability of their selected SkillBridge program as it relates to their individual transition plans, goals, and career objectives. Maintains ongoing communication with clients to provide guidance and resources that support completion of DoD-mandated CRS in coordination with SkillBridge participation.

Provides and documents Transition Readiness Program Initial Counseling (IC) and Capstone sessions in accordance with DoDI 1332.35 and MARADMIN guidance. Utilizes standardized HQMC forms, procedures, and assessment tools to evaluate client readiness for separation, verify completion of Career Readiness Standards (CRS), and provide tailored transition planning support. Works collaboratively with Marine for Life, education services, and other transition partners to ensure warm handovers and continuity of service.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  1. Bachelor''s degree in education, counseling, business management, human resource management, or related field is required. Master's degree is highly preferred.
  2. Must have a minimum of three years of experience in, or related to, higher education and/or career planning, direct advisement of students, employment services, curriculum design, or training/instructing.
  3. Expert ability to communicate effectively and professionally in writing and in person with various levels of technical, professional, management and administrative personnel.
  4. Expert ability to work independently and follow through on assigned tasks. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact, diplomacy, emotional intelligence, confidentiality, and overall professionalism. Must be able to incorporate and rapidly adapt to changing facets, priorities, and procedures.
  5. Highly proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite. Knowledge of management and automated information systems, and software applications.
  6. Knowledge and experience of career coaching, career development and/or advising techniques to support reintegration, education, and workforce development of clients. Ability to interpret self-assessment results and determine client compatibility and requirements for post-transition goals. Ability to understand workforce standards and labor market trends.
  7. Possess, or be able to obtain within two years of employment, the Facilitating Career Development (FCD) credential through the National Career Development Association (NCDA). Additionally, must obtain and maintain the Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) credential through NCDA within two years of completing the FCD training.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Clearance, in order to complete assigned duties that require access to classified information.
