- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employees must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
- Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6600 Armament Work Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, climbing, stretching, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Some work is occasionally performed in a sitting position while making repairs at a workbench or performing surveillance inspections. The work requires lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying various sizes and shapes of components and parts weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Items over 25 pounds are moved with either human or mechanical assistance. Able to be respirator certified and wear a level "A" suit for extended periods of time in adverse weather to participate in MMRT events.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works primarily inside well lighted shop areas in close proximity to class 1 explosives. Some work performed in clean rooms. Stands on concrete, metal, or hard composite floors for long periods of time. Exposure to oil, grease, cleaning solvents. Danger of cuts, abrasion from tools, burns from soldering irons, electrical shocks, excessive and loud noises, handling live explosives/munitions. Observes safety, security, fire prevention, and good housekeeping rules. May require limited TDY and shift work. Specific safety Training is a prerequisite to working with propellant fuels. Propellant fuels consisting of Monomethyl Hydrazine (MMH) and Nitrogen Tetroxide are toxic when inhaled and when it comes in contact with the skin; will react with certain materials to create a flammable/explosive hazard. When exposed to concentrations above 440 PPM will cause asphyxiation and death. During MMRT events, Level A and SCBA will be worn as required in temperatures ranging from 30F to l00F degrees (ambient).

Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley.
