Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Technician/Administrative Work Category at the Entry/Developmental Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DISA (ENDPOINT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DIRECTORATE )-FE11.

Duties

  • Document Management (skills include: organization, document editing, version control, accuracy, security of documents, collaboration, meta data management, format validation, critical thinking, material comprehension)
  • Business Notation (skills include: business process and model notation, data flow diagrams, workflows, RACIs, use case diagrams, activity diagrams, meeting minutes, collaboration, organization)
  • Automation Support (skills include: customer support, process improvement, continuous learning, training, documentation, problem solving, collaboration, communication, troubleshooting, tool mastery)
  • PM Support (skills include: migration, planning and sustainment support, metrics reporting [daily, weekly], acquisition support [entry level], requirements discovery, analysis and coordination, governance development)

Clarification: An appointment under a Internship is intended to continue through completion of education and work requirements.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements:

For the GG-03 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of post high school study.

For the GG-04 grade level: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree.

For the GG-05 grade level: Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.

For the GG-07 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision after completing a bachelor's degree.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

PROGRAM COMPLETION AND CONVERSION ELIGIBILITY: Upon successful completion of their academic program and the Internship program, interns may be converted to a term GG position in the competitive service consistent with agency needs, academic achievement, and demonstrated potential. Conversion potential for this opportunity is a GG 343 5/7/9/11 up to the full performance level of GS 11. However, future budgetary events, hiring restrictions, conversion caps, or other events may preclude the conversion or conversion to a position with the full potential performance level. Individuals converted to a position in the competitive service may be subjected to participation in an agency formal development program.

To be eligible for conversion:

  • Meet any agency-specific requirements specified in the Participant's Agreement.
  • Demonstrate successful job performance that results in a rating of record of at least Fully successful and a recommendation for conversion by the first level supervisor.
  • Complete at least 640 hours of work experience acquired through the Program while enrolled as a half- or full-time degree- or certificate-seeking student;
  • Complete a course of academic study/degree conferred, at a qualifying educational institution conferring a diploma, certificate or degree
  • Meet the qualification standards for the position to which the intern will be converted;
  • Receive a favorable recommendation by supervisor
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

Education
