3) Serving as the initial incident commander, effectively directing the actions of initial arriving companies in the absence of a higher-level fire officer's arrival and assumption of command; and
4) Effective, professional, and outgoing customer service and interaction with the command, the general public and stakeholders.

This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Hazmat Incident Commander, Fire Inspector II, and Fire Instructor II, Fire Officer III. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-EMT.
The following certification, if not already held, must be obtained within 12 months of hire as mandatory condition of position: Marine Firefighter. If you do not possess all of the above certifications, and provide verification with your application, you will be rated ineligible.
