Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER (BATTALION CHIEF) in the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fire and Emergency Service of JOINT EXPED BASE LITTLE CREEK FT STORY.

Duties

  • You will administer training, orientation, indoctrination, and education programs for fire safety and awareness.
  • You will present fire protection and prevention education or training to employees.
  • You will prepare outlines for student firefighter training.
  • You will write reports of fire inspections performed, fire code violations observed, and corrective recommendations offered.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • The incumbent will work a 72 hour work week, which included weekends and holidays. Subject to mandatory overtime and recall.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1)Managing incidents and directing fire suppression, rescue operations, and response to hazardous materials incidents ; 2) Performing and leading/supervising personnel in the delivery of basic life support and/or advanced life support including supervision of ground ambulance transportation service; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Maintaining supply and material inventories to meet the needs of fire prevention functions; 5) Providing guidance on procedures of fire prevention and life safety practices; 6) Performing and leading/supervising personnel in the delivery of basic life support and/or advanced life support including supervision of ground ambulance transportation service.
