Duties
As a SUPERVISORY GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST - TITLE 5, GS-2001-11, you will direct the development, coordination, and implementation of procedural changes; direct the performance of management/program analysis for the logistic activities under the jurisdiction of the USPFO; and direct acquisition, accountability, incoming, outgoing and formal transfer of logistic asset for the USPFO in support of the Federal and state mission. Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Explain performance expectations to employees and provide regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Hold employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Develop plans, programs, and policies for the operation, management, and administration of current and projected organizational programs. Advise the Supply Management Officer and USPFO on available resources of personnel, equipment and funds to maintain maximum mission effectiveness. Monitor and review the monthly inventory document for excessive gains/losses and initiates appropriate action as required. Ensure coordination with the other state USPFO, USPFO branches and state activities and units for material support for projects, operations, or programs including works such as: equipment fielding, commercial non-standard equipment authorizations and distribution. Participate in meetings, i.e., state boards, project teams or conferences concerning levels of support, timing, locations and related inventory requirements. Provide guidance regarding logistic inventory control and conducting surveys of logistic supplies and inventory management functions. Review and validate all state activity/ unit requests for procurement of logistic supplies and services against current and future authorizations, non-standard requests and fiscal law. Perform other duties as assigned.

Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Must attend Supervisor Training: failure to complete Supervisor Training within 12 months of appointment will result in reversion to previous position.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least one (1) year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service (GS-09) or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience and knowledge of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work in the supply field. Experience supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc.
