I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: I am able to review data from multiple sources and determine relevant information to a given situation. I assist in the development, submission and maintenance of financials/budget reports.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: I foster and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external customers to coordinate projects. I provide expertise and guidance to external entities to shape priorities and support all Information planning and exercises. I provide technical information about products and services and identify or tailor products and/or services to meet customer needs.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: I explain, advocate and express facts in a convincing manner. I listen to others and recognize potential miscommunications. I translate high-level objectives to Branch level actions and clearly articulate and simplify information to senior leadership.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: I use logic, judgement and initiative to identify alternatives and solve problems. I research and interpret trends and developments to devise new or improved approaches which may deviate from traditional methods and practices.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the
GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Reviewing and interpreting policy and doctrine to assess impacts and provide advice to senior leaders; evaluating emerging advanced technologies and providing recommendations to senior leadership in support of operations; and identifying and implementing future technical capabilities to address and solve operational objectives and requirements for Information.
