You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTEGRATED PREVENTION COORDINATOR in the Fleet and Family Readiness Division of COMFLEACT YOKOSUKA.

Duties

  • You will evaluate, consult, and advise in a variety of primary prevention programs in the social sciences.
  • You will be responsible for carrying out prevention program activities to prevent destructive/problematic behaviors and promote healthy climate.
  • You will lead collaborative efforts with diverse internal and external stakeholders and foster buy-in for crosscutting efforts to include senior leader support and advocacy.
  • You will identify needs, trends, and performance measures to evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • You will direct and coordinate the work of professional employees to include assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of assignment difficulty, and employees' capabilities.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience supporting and overseeing integrated prevention activities and programming to include assisting in program management, supporting unit-level action plans, prevention initiatives, prevention assessments, and providing insights to unit leaders to inform program updates and address prevention gaps; and
Experience working with prevention programs such as SAPR, Suicide Prevention, Resilience, etc.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position

OR

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
