Duties

  • Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the intelligence unit.
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
  • Exercises responsibility for oversight of various unit activities and operations, including any or all of the intelligence unit functional areas of training, standardization and evaluation, development of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP).
  • Develops long-range training, intelligence, and deployment plans for the unit to meet training goals, higher headquarters inspection schedules, and overseas deployment requirements.
  • Serves as the key advisor to the Wing Commander on all unit matters, including intelligence collection and dissemination processes, support requirements, and technical assets of associated intelligence-data gathering systems.
  • Responsible for all fiscal operations of the unit.
  • Maintains mission readiness and ensures unit compliance with directives as validated through the Inspector General, MAJCOMs and other reviewing agencies.
  • Oversees all unit training of assigned/attached personnel.
  • Exercises overall management of the unit’s information technology program.
  • Exercises overall management of the special compartmented information (SCI) program including ensuring proper protection, use and dissemination of SCI documentation and materials.
  • Oversees the monitoring of the implementation of the unit safety program for all intelligence operations and related activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance and be eligible for access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI).

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience in education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing, and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the subordinate Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) unit crew members. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports. Experience in directing, coordinating, and overseeing work through subordinate supervisors. Experience in analyzing and evaluating raw data in his/her functional area in order to produce finished intelligence reports under general supervision. Possess expert specialized knowledge of all aspects of intelligence as it relates to the various intelligence missions, to include the specialties of the various crew members. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Must have at least 12 months of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.

The Human Resources Officer (HRO) is the final approval for all ETP waivers. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application.
