Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Serves in the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as Assistant Chief, Cybersecurity Program and Risk Management Directorate (CSPRMD) for the Cybersecurity Risk Management Program.

Duties

  • Leads the implementation of programs designed to anticipate, assess, and mitigate system vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinates the implementation of designated cyber risk programs across all agency personnel and systems, and establishes agency reporting criteria.
  • Evaluates proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks, especially with regards to accreditations.
  • Resolves integration issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure.
  • Support architecture and frameworks as required by Federal and DoD policies and guidance.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • DoD 8570.01-M requires Information Assurance training and certification commensurate with the position’s duties; the Program ISSM is Information Assurance Management (IAM) level III.
  • In accordance with DoD 8570.01 certification requirement, incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain DoD 8570.01 (incorporating Change 4, 10 November 2015) certification within six months of entrance in position.
  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI Security clearance.
  • Incumbent may be required to be on-call, 24X7 as mission requires.
  • Incumbent may be required to work overtime.
  • Testing Designated Position (TDP) - This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience:
One year specialized experience such as: 1) Evaluates proposed new systems, and software designs for potential security risks, especially with regards to accreditations; 2) Resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure; 3) Develops performance requirements/expectaions; and evaluates/rates employees regarding performance appraisals; 4) Knowledge in advance IT priniciples, concepts, methodsm standards, and rpactice.
