Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Lifting and Handling Manager (Deputy Director) in the Lifting and Handling Department of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY .

Duties

  • You will provide highly technical crane/rigging services including but not limit to oversight, planning, maintenance, repair.
  • You will provide technical services which directly and significantly impact production rigging operations, quality assurance, and crane certifications.
  • You will monitor and guide the daily work practices and assessing the readiness and performance of a repair facility.
  • You will provide administrative supervision, direction, and support to the Lifting and Handling Department.
  • You will develop and establish performance standards for subordinate personnel.
  • You will recommend staffing changes, promotion, transfer, reassignment, position classification and organization structure changes subject to Position Management Board (PMB) approval.
  • You will plan and execute the day-to-day Lifting and Handling Department operations.
  • You will serve as the commands expert on lifting and handling operational practice, advise customer commands on production solutions to specific lifting and handling problems.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing, planning, developing, and overseeing the implementation and execution of highly technical lifting and handling of crane/rigging services in support of a repair facility.

Additional Information Cont:

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
