Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the Operations Research and Systems Support Department of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Duties

  • You will be responsible for planning, facilitating, delegating, and monitoring the implementation of assigned Operations Research projects that support acquisition duties.
  • You will perform and oversee research and development work to evaluate the performance of supply system, detect weaknesses, and propose remedial solutions.
  • You will coordinate, develop, update, and provide senior management briefs to internal and external customers.
  • You will establish and implement procedures and guidelines.
  • You will communicate performance expectations, hold employees accountable, make distinctions in performance, reward excellent performance, promote employee development/training, and promptly address performance/conduct issues.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following:

1. Applying a systemic approach to identify, examine and analyze problems introduced by leadership, and internal and external customer requests.
2. Developing alternative solutions/courses of actions, analyzing data, and presenting recommendations to management for identified issues of study.
3. Applying knowledge of data analytics software and functionality to facilitate solutions to the analysis and modeling of complex logistics support problems.
4. Researching, developing, understanding, and interpreting mathematical models as a representation of the specific processes under study.
5. Designing and applying various analytical, simulation, optimization, and scientific techniques to solve simple and complex logistics problems.
6) An awareness of current Machine Leaning and Artificial Intelligence techniques and their potential use for learning providing data to model fundamental wholesale and retail supply chain inventory logistics support.

Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
