Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER in the OPERATIONS FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION of JB PEARL HARBOR HICKAM SEC DET.

A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.

Duties

  • You will coordinate emergency response for calls concerning complaints or reports of violations.
  • You will implement force protection measures in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • You will administer anti-terrorism, force protection, physical security, and law enforcement services for the protection of life and property.

  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Selectee must have and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to shift work to include: call back, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Incumbent is subject to 24 hour recall notification and is required to respond per command policy.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. 1) Directing and making immediate decisions in the provisions of Law Enforcement (LE), Antiterrorism (AT), and Force Protection (FP); 2) Performing a full range of duties and responsibilities in preventing terrorist activities, resolving offenses, conducting preliminary and ongoing investigations of incidents; 3) Documenting law enforcement and security events and the issuance of citations; 4) Implementing FPCON measures and RAM in the response to command direction and terrorist threats. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Recurring and unpredictably strenuous physical effort is exerted when apprehending, subduing, and detaining persons, performing body searches, and using unarmed self-defense techniques. Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs and be able to carry or move persons weighting 180 pounds, such as accident or crime victims and hostile suspects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment regularly involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress which require a range of safety and other precautions (e.g., subject to possible physical attack by human means and/or various substances, weapons or firearms). Routinely performs duties outdoors in various weather climates, conditions, and temperatures.

Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire.
