Summary

THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This ND National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT), Position Description Number D2504000 and is part of the ND 119 Operations Group, National Guard.

Duties

This position serves as a consultant to the Maintenance Group Commander/ Director of Maintenance.

  • Develops, interprets, and provides program guidance to the Wing regarding maintenance policies, procedures, budget, training criteria, and manpower/personnel.
  • Interprets command aircraft assignment configuration and reporting policy and informs appropriate Wing personnel of requirements and provides sufficient follow-up to ensure compliance.
  • Provides oversight to the budget process, including planning, programming, budgeting, allocation, and funds execution.
  • Leads aircraft maintenance support for operational, exercise, or contingency operations.
  • Evaluates leads and controls the Group and subordinate unit training program to ensure combat readiness for unit members and tracks progress via automated training records system and other tools.
  • Directs aircraft maintenance analysis activities for the Maintenance Group.
  • Reviews and interprets aircraft maintenance analysis information to implement programs that positively affect the future health of the aircraft fleet.
  • Represents the Maintenance Operations branch, participating in discussions, meetings, and/or serving on panels or committees concerning maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships within the wing, local organizations, other units, NGB and Major Commands.
  • Plans and schedules work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution.
  • Coordinates plans and schedules with other organization managers and customers as appropriate. Identifies need for changes in priorities and takes action to implement such changes.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the ND National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposition is mandatory.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; comp time may be required.
  • May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory,

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have youhave experience, education, or training that provided an understanding of the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and the processes of production activity.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have 1 year specialized experience equivalent to the GS 09 grade level which provided; 1) Familiar with computations of cost data on labor and materials, buying materials or reviewing data with respect to man-hours, machine time, materials consumed, etc., 2) Work experience with automation support programs including inputting data, providing status of equipment and repair parts, requisitioning, and monitoring job order, 3) Experience leading, directing, and assigning work to production personnel.
