Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (PROJECT MACHINE) in the Machine Shop Branch (Code 1440.2), Production Division (Code 1440), Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) (Code 1400) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania a
detachment of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

  • You will be responsible for the efficient, economical and timely accomplishment of many different complex and varied Machining processes, functions and projects.
  • You will analyze long range plans and manage the machining functions of the Center.
  • You will establish performance standards, review and assign performance ratings, plan and direct an effective leave program to coincide with the projected workload
  • You will resolve conflicts concerning work package development.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience planning, coordinating, directing, and controlling all work performed within a branch;
Experience planning long, intermediate, and short-range machining work which includes disassembly, inspection, rebuild, manufacture, repair, assemble, and testing of a variety of ship components;
Experience resolving conflicts concerning work package development and project schedules;
Experience tracking cost expenditures and related budgetary concerns;
Experience carrying out supervisory duties.
