Qualifications
General Experience: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats; Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures; Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels; Education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.
SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-12: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience planning, organizing, and directing all Special Access security activities of the Advanced Program Security Office, ensuring that Information, Personnel, Physical, Industrial, and Automated Information System functional work areas comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs; Advising and providing counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management; Researching and determining or recommending appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact organization, installation, command, or agency; Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
