Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):
1. Ability to plan the use of subordinate workers, managing their work and leave schedules, and providing advice, guidance, and direction to employees on a wide range of management and administrative tasks associated with the surface maintenance support activities and operations.
2. Ability to identify employee developmental needs and effectively train or coordinate training to improve job performance or organizational maintenance support capabilities.
3. Ability to set performance standards, establish deadlines and priorities, plan work assignments, communicate work expectations, and make formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. 4. Ability to identify work related problems, such as excessive costs or low productivity, can determine the root causes, and implement corrective actions within their authority to resolve such problems.
5. Ability to use current automation to monitor and analyze manpower utilization and efficiency, and if direct/indirect labor ratios enable the organization to meet production goals and achieve established maintenance performance standards for turn-around-time (TAT).
6. Ability to develop, implement, and oversee the quality assurance program for assigned surface maintenance facilities. Ability to confer with equipment users to resolve problems and ensures satisfaction and resolve deficiencies
7. Ability to oversee safety, occupational health, hazardous waste/industrial hygiene programs for the maintenance facilities. Able to visit the facilities to promote and ensure compliance with established standards.
8. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to include proficiency in using computers and office productivity software to organize and convey information relevant to supply and maintenance operations.
