The area of consideration for this position is CAT 1 (Areas 1-4) (Air). Applications will only be accepted from current military members of the North Carolina Air National Guard, or members of either the Air Force Reserve, Active Duty Air Force, or another state's Air National Guard, who are willing and eligible to join the North Carolina Air National Guard.
Duties
As a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0501-07, you will manage the authorization, requisition, receipt, maintenance, storage, handling, delivering and disposal of non-nuclear munitions; develop, implement, operate, and analyze munitions accounts including, but not limited to, inventory control, inspection, and item accounting; implement management controls for allocations, stock levels, forecasting, and inventory management; ensure unit members are fully trained and prepared for exercises and contingency deployments; serve as the installation and other supported location(s) focal point for all munitions matters and inquiries concerning recommendations, development, and publication of policy and procedural changes; advise for maintenance, operations, and installation level logistics of munitions, determines munitions compatibility and explosive limits by utilizing the master storage plan, taking into account special requirements, in order to provide proper physical storage to the maximum capacity; coordinate with various work centers to ensure the safe transport of munitions items to support mission requirements and advises supervisor and command chain on the status and the availability of assets for build-up/aircraft support, training, time change, and mobilization supportability requirements; develop a formal check list with elements of new or revised procedures involving workflows, actual work to be accomplished, and organizations involved, for the Munitions Flight for the inspection program; apply principles of accountability in verification of aspects of the self-inspection program (i.e. All ANG A-10, F-15, F-16, Rescue Units, RPA, and Heavy Aircraft); ensure munitions activities operate in accordance with all federal, state, and local munitions and supply regulations and mandates; enforce munitions accountability discipline to conserve, protect, and maintain available munitions resources; execute the role of the Munitions War Reserve Materiel Manager at the installation level; identify projected shipments/receipts of munitions in support of the base OPLAN; compile quantitative data and prepares reports on program effectiveness, trend analysis and projected workloads; prepare documentation, deviation requests, reports for data calls, and channels to command munitions staff and responsible safety offices for review or action; analyze munition management data to determine the effectiveness of munitions support, resources, and requirements; conduct research and prepares materiel and quality deficiency report submissions, tracks product improvement actions/initiatives; analyze reports and provides suitable recommendations to correct negative findings and/or training deficiencies by inventorying, documenting, and investigating through multiple methods to achieve required resolution; work with quality assurance by reviewing technical data and time compliance technical orders for completeness, accuracy, and applicability; review work operations for compliance with policies to identify improvements and analyze operational reports, plans and work schedules to anticipate problems and to pinpoint causes of deficiencies; may participate in Wing Inspection Teams to evaluate unit munitions maintenance and management procedures including locally developed forms, publications, operating instructions, and checklists for content, accuracy, intent, and necessity; perform other duties as assigned.
