Duties
This position is in the Wyoming Army National Guard's Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS), located at Camp Guernsey, WY. The purpose is to provide overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions. Participates with management officials in the planning and establishment of long-range work requirements and schedules. Serves as the highest-level subject matter expert for work accomplished. Work activities and functions are typically controlled through two or more levels of supervision.
(1) Plans overall allocation of personnel and resources for the organization. Ensures accomplishment of work operations which because of their scope, volume, and complexity are planned on a year or longer basis.
(2) Explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines and sequence of operations. Coordinates and directs the work of units supervised. Balances workload for subordinate work groups.
(3) Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by supervisors. Makes formal appraisal of supervisors' work performance and reviews employee appraisals submitted by them. Determines long-range training needs for all levels
of subordinates, submits funding and budget requests with justification for approval, and arranges for the accomplishment of training.
(4) Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Implements and complies with agency, state, and Federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements.
(5) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural firefighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position over 180 days will result in suspension or termination of these military incentives. Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a technician.

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
Consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2, 4 and 6.
Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ARNG employees assigned to the CSMS.
Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming National Guard.
Area 4: All current Drill Status Airmen and M-day soldiers of the Wyoming National Guard.
Area 6: Current military members of the US Army, Army Reserves or other states' Army National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Army National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

Min: E-9/SGM, CW2, and O-3/CPT
Max: E-9/SGM, CW5, and O-4/MAJ
Out-of-State Applicants:
Min: CW2 and O-3/CPT
Max: CW4 and O-4/MAJ

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess experience or training leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment.
AND
Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
NOTE: Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.
